Some tips on how to fill out your 2010 Census form. This is the first video on my new YouTube channel. More on that in the future. In the meantime, why not head over and click the “Subscribe” button?
Last summer, Jen and I spent part of a day up in Morro Bay. I found a recording I made on that day. The sounds of seals in the inner harbor. Here’s some photos of the seals:
More photos of the trip to Morro Bay can be seen here.
Found this while searching through some files on my computer. It was recorded during the Big Room Move. We have a very special cockatiel named Morris. He’s in the photo below, in the middle, sitting on the back of the cage door:
For quite some time, Jen’s been teaching Morris to mimic the melody of the chorus from “Food, Glorious Food.” And he did his best to pull it off. He didn’t quite get it this time. But sometimes, he does.
I was informed yesterday that my 74-year old aunt had passed away. It’s sad news, to be sure. I wasn’t really close to her. I can’t say that I’m mourning her passing on a deep level. I have fond memories of her from my childhood. At one point, she moved to Phoenix, and I only saw her a couple times after that. I had been wanting to call her to try and get some information on the history of my father’s side of our family. I don’t know much about my family. Though, my mom has told me some things recently about her side of the family. But my dad rarely spoke of his family. In fact, he didn’t speak much at all about most of his life prior to when he met my mom. It’s likely that most of what’s known about that side of our family history went with my aunt. It’s a shame. It’s also a lesson for me about procrastination. Specifically, that I shouldn’t procrastinate. It sounds cliche, but it’s true. Don’t wait. Whatever it is, do it now. You may not get another chance.
I think we’ve finally got that sewer gasproblem under control. After moving some stuff around, I discovered this open drain pipe, hiding in the hallway:
We went to the hardware store later that day and picked up another Qwik Cap. Now the pipe is capped and so far, so good:
I seem to have come through my respiratory infection. Haven’t completely recovered, but feeling much better. Unfortunately, Jen’s come down with similar symptoms and she’s pretty sick. Guess that was inevitable. She’s holding off for now, but she may go and see a doctor if things don’t improve soon. We were invited to a party tonight but we had to cancel, which is disappointing. But, she’s in no shape to go anywhere right now. We spent the day at home. Watching TV and playing Viva Pinata.
I’m still sick. After about a week of not getting any better, I finally decided to go see a doctor. He diagnosed me with a respiratory infection and prescribed some antibiotics. That was on Thursday afternoon. After being on the medicine for a couple days, I’m starting to feel better. However, Thursday night, I did something that probably wan’t too smart in terms of my recovery from the respiratory infection, I went with Jen to a midnight showing of Alice In Wonderland. The reason I say this wasn’t so smart is that I wound up being out rather late, and I had to get up early the next day for work. Still, I’m glad I went, and I don’t think the lack of rest did much to aggravate my condition. Anyway, here’s some photos from the movie opening.
