Meet Mr. Schneider, The Blue Lobster

August 26th, 2008

One of the many additions to our new aquarium is a blue lobster we’ve named Mr. Schneider. (Bonus points to anyone who gets the reference.) Mr. Schneider is a rather industrious lil’ lobster. He has spent days (literally) creating a home for himself (we don’t actually know his gender) under a large rock. In the video, he is seen moving rocks around to help accommodate his new lair. Watch for cameos by a molly fish (R.I.P.) and a neon tetra.

Music in this video is by AjT.

Mr Schneider The Blue Lobster = Named after Fred Schneider of The B-52s. The Song – Rock Lobster!

Now I can’t get the bloody song outta my head!!!

  2. Shawno Says:

Yeah, you got it, Tim. Sorry for the “Rock Lobster” earworm by proxy, though. This might help get that outta your head.

  3. Jacob Says:

Shawno, your video podcast about the weather wouldent go on my 80gig ipod… why?

  4. Jacob Says:

wow, same with the vidoe thats on the blog post

  5. Shawno Says:

Jacob: Right-click the videos in your iTunes and select “Convert selection for iPod/iPhone.” That should fix the problem.

Funny thing is, someone told me just last week that my videos played fine on their iPod. I don’t have an iPod, so I have no way to test these things.

  6. Jacob Says:

what came to mind first was the Dwayne F. Schneider from One day at a time. I like the B52′s reference though!

The Lobster, Mr. Schneider, was getting the “love shack” ready for the “Deadbeat club” pod-cast to upload to “Channel Z”. You know, it’s a “Cosmic thing”. Hows that, the first original idea I have had all year! Cheers

  12. Andy Melton Says:

The lobster is cute. I like how he/she pushed the rock out of his lair. I really like the pretty rocks in the aquarium, too.

Don’t think I’m saying your music selection is bad. However, I always think it’s funny that you go for the rock (?) style and I go for the ethereal (?). I guess that’s the proper genres, lol.

  13. Shawno Says:

I decided to go for something bluesy for this video as it’s about a blue lobster. I had originally downloaded something from Jonathan Coulton, but thought this song was better.

And in general, I tend to lean more towards guitar-based “rock” music. But that’s just my preference. The song I used for the Jellyfish video, however, is something different from that.

  14. Andy Melton Says:

It keeps my ears open to different music. We all like different things. If we didn’t, the world would be bland.

I just noticed your menu bar at the top travels with you as you scroll down. New feature or have I just not noticed it before?

  15. Shawno Says:

Always been like that. Came with the theme. No idea how it’s actually implemented.
