This video is a sequel to my Mac Mini upgrade part 1 audio podcast. In the video, I document the process of upgrading the RAM in my Mac Mini. These sites were very helpful in demonstrating the upgrade process:

This is also my eighteenth podcast for NaPodPoMo.

    Does this void your warranty?

Good question, Rowley. I’ve seen some sites that say that it does void the warranty. Some sites say that it doesn’t. I’m not worried, though. I’ve never had to take a Mac in for service.

Does OWC say that the Mini can operate with 4GBs? It would make since if it could. I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Apple of course says it can only operate with 2GBs. The only reason for only having 2GBs to 3GBs is if you want to run the memory in dual channel mode which some people say makes the computer faster. I don’t know if that’s really true or not, just what I’ve heard and read.

Really cool that the Mini boots that quickly! Congratulations on the upgrade being a success! Look forward to more videos…I guess I should be doing the same, lol.

    Ooops. 2GBs instead of 3GBs.

I didn’t see anything on OWC’s site about 4 GB. I’m assuming that they would’ve tested it. I did see a thread on the Apple Discussions forum where someone said that installing 4 GB *MIGHT* provide a slight improvement over 3 GB. But no one seemed to know for sure.
